This is yet another empty shop that is looking neglected. It’s a very elegant building and compared to many in the town isn’t too bad.

Bu t what if it came to life again as a kids fashion shop? We suggest calling it Jack & Jill:

Why not use the space above the shop to advertise your store. They used to years ago and the signs are decorative and can help enhance the high street, especially if they are hand painted (as this is supposed to represent).

This shop, although still not open, has recently been restored. Although it remains unused as a retail business premises, no expense was spared in bringing it back to life. It was completely taken back to bare iron work and the display cabinets removed and refurbished. A credit to the owners who made the effort to allow the tradesmen to give it the attention it deserves.
Hi Steve, This is excellent news. I remember when it was the Chocolate cupboard. I’d love to see a picture, I didn’t notice when I was last in Ilfracombe a few months ago. I hoe other shops in Ilfracombe get the same attention. The high street should be a conservation area, there are a great many original, irreplaceable shop fronts in Ilfracombe and too much poor signage. Thanks for posting about this Steve. It’s nice to hear things are moving in the right direction and I hope an appropriate business can be found to inhabit it.
